Holly Maxner Berry Jan. 27,1978 March 14, 2013 A memorial service will be held for Holly Maxner Berry, 34, at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the First Baptist Church, 2080 Marion in North Bend with the Rev. J.L. Coffee officiating.

The public is invited. Holly Maxner Berry was born Holly LeAnne Tucker, Jan. 27, 1978, in Walnut Creek, Calif. She was the first child of Miles T. Tucker Jr.

and Pearl Fairman (Maxner) Tucker. Holly lived in the Bay Area until she was 4 years old. The family moved to Arnold, in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada where she lived for five years. She, her mother and siblings moved to Three Rivers, at the entrance to Sequoia National Park where she lived until she was 13 and attended the Jerene DeEtte Davenport June 7,1933 March 21, 2013 A celebration of life service will be held for Jerene DeEtte Davenport, 79, of Myrtle Point at 1p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the OSU Extension building, 631 Alder in Myrtle Point.

Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Coquille. Jerene was born June 7, 1933, at Knife Hospital in Coquille to Joseph "Albert" and Verna Mytle Hart Davenport. She died March 21, 2013, at Catching Creek. In her early childhood, Jerene played with many cousins on the Davenport ranch on Catching Creek. They especially liked playing in the grove where they fished, caught crawdads (cooked and ate them), and rode horses.

Jerene helped her parents on their Jersey dairy farm. Jerene attended Myrtle Point schools, played the trombone, and graduated from high school in 1951. She married Ross Price in 1961 and later they divorced. During her younger adult years, Jerene enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. She loved to golf, especially at the Elks' Fourth of July golf tournament.

She participated in a bowling team that traveled to Reno and Las Vegas, and in later years (after retirement) played pinochle with the Ladies' Elks and Eagles clubs. Red was her color of choice in vehicles, motorcycles and flowers. Her dogs and cats were a special part of her life. For a time she also had beef cattle and enjoyed watching the calves run and kick at dusk. She liked giving fireworks on the Fourth of July, gifts for birthdays and holidays, and homemade fudge for Christ- mas.

When a niece or nephew was sick at home, Auntie Jerene might stop by with an milkshake to brighten their day. She loved giving them motorcycle rides. She attended many Bobcat sports and school functions, as well as local 4- events in support of her nieces and nephews. Jerene was employed at various businesses, and then began a 30-year tenure at Henry A. Schroeder Sons as a bookkeeper.

Her nieces and nephews loved to visit her at work, as she would show them all the furniture and let them sit on the couches and run up and down the huge indoor ramp. Richard C. Hodge March 1, 1935 Dec. 3, 2012 A celebration of life for Richard C. Hodge, 77, of Aberdeen will be held from 1-3 p.m., April 6, downstairs in the fellowship hall at the Coquille Praise Center.

Please bring a dish and memories to share. Richard was born March 1, 1935 in Boxley, Newton County, Arkansas, to Hulen and Gladys (Sparks) Hodge. He lost his battle with cancer and passed away at home in Aberdeen Dec. 3, 2012. Richard grew up in Boxley, Newton, and came to Coquille in 1952.

A few years later he married Penne Pinn Livermore and raised five children in Coquille. He worked at NorPly, Roseburg Forest Products and GP mills. In 1978 he moved to Aberdeen, Wash. and began Saturday, March 30,2013 The World A5 Obituaries Three Rivers School. At age 13 she moved to Hawaii where she finished the seventh and eighth grades in the Kealakehe School district on the Big Island.

In 1994 her mother married Jay Maxner of the Big Island of Hawaii. Holly learned to dance hula and danced in the Waiohinu Hula Studio Halau for four years, worked on the family organic farm, was homeschooled, and did many native Hawaiian crafts. Holly also spent time in Texas with her brother, Miles, in Colorado with her Aunt Melody DuCasse, in California with her grandparents, Chuck and Donna Fairman and Jay's brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Dianne Maxner. Her Aunt Donna Waite hosted the family on two occasions so Holly and her siblings could attend Christian church singing camp in Lompoc, A warm thank you is offered to all who stopped by to see Jerene while she was at the Myrtle Point Care Center, various hospitals, and the last several years at her home. Your visits and assistance helped her get to appointments and enjoyable outings.

What a blessing that she could attend a cousin's birthday gathering in Bandon just a few days before her death. Special thanks to her family for their support and care, which enabled Jerene to live in her home on Catching Creek where she could enjoy her beautiful red flower baskets and view her favorite humming birds from the comfort of her living room. Jerene is survived by three sisters, Jody (John) Root of Roseburg, Mary Ellen (Dave) Robertson of Myrtle Point, and Peggy Shirtcliff of Myrtle Point; 12 nieces and nephews, Jamie Root of Roseburg, Jennifer (Mark) Walker of Eugene, Jeremy (Taylor) Root of Roseburg, Vic Hammack of Brothers, Toni (Darren) Fults of Myrtle Point, Traci Hale of North Bend, Ted Robertson of Myrtle Point, Angela (Chris) Broer of Meridian, Idaho, Timmy (Maria) Robertson of the Philippines, Randy (Michelle) Robertson of Seguin, Texas, Denise (Norm) Sturgill of Eugene, and Ray (Naomi) Shirtcliff of Eugene; great -nieces and nephews, Matt, Marilyn, James, Hannah, Katie, Joe (Katy), Lindsey, Stacy (Jason), Megan (Jeremy), Ali Jean, Tana, Benjamin, Mary Beth, Tess, Lizzie, Nicholas, Vincent, Rose, Dominic, Christina, Cassy, Allison and Emma; and great- -great nephews, Lyam, Tyler, twins Braiden and Zachary, and two babies on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, older sister, Deloris Arlene; and younger sister, Verna "Jenne" Hammack in 2003. In 1932, her parents grived the loss of Baby Deloris, and then seven months later rejoiced at Jerene's birth.

These forays added much to her life experiences. In 2005 Holly decided to change her name to Holly Maxner Berry "so people would smile when they heard my name," and to signify the acceptance of her new her new father. Holly moved to Oregon in 2006, ahead of the Maxners who moved there in 2008. Holly struck out on her own, first living in the foster home of Janis Trammel for five years, and finally getting her own apartment in January 2012. For the last year of her life she so enjoyed being in and caring for her own place and making it a home.

She loved plants and guinea pigs and her apartment reflected this love. Holly worked with Bay Area Enterprises as a janitor for the North Bend Library and loved her job. He played under Coach Bill Borcher and was a big part of the 1947 Marshfield High School basketball team winning their first state championship. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1948. As a young man growing up, his other passions were golf, fishing, and crabbing. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. Bob married his soulmate, Marilyn Olson in June 1972 and she was his com- Robert Scott Cazel Sept.

7,1965 March 5, 2013 Robert Scott Cazel passed away from natural causes March 5, 2013, in Portland, 0 Robert was born Sept. 7, 1965, in Madison, Wis. graduated Robert Cazel Marshfield High School in Coos Bay June 1983. A small family service Jacqueline Ruth Vehrs Feb. 10, 1934 March 18, 2013 A celebration of life service will be held for Jacqueline Ruth Vehrs, 79, of Eugene through the spreading of her ashes at a date and location yet to be determined.

Jackie was born Feb. 10, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to W.T. Ragle and Florence (Turner) Marshall. She passed away from natural causes March 18, 2013. Jackie married Wayne and workshops with Shama House in North Bend, volunteered extensively in Quilts for Kids, and her own hat making projects for children cancer patients, the elderly and the troops.

She also spent Saturdays from October through Christmas at the Pony Village Mall packing boxes for the troops. She was well known and loved in her community. One of Holly's favorite special people, who gave extravagantly of his love and care, was the famed gospel singer Fred Frank as well as his dear wife, Judy. Edward and Katherine VanCleave of Murphys were also dear lifelong friends. Over the years she had many other friends, too numerous to list, whom she always remembered, contacted and cared about.

Holly is survived by her mother, Pearl Maxner and stepfather, Jay Maxner, both panion for 41 years. In his later years, Bob's passion was Myrtlewood. He enjoyed making bowls, tables, clocks and pictures and was the owner of the Westwoods gift store on Ocean Boulevard. Today at that location, there still stands a carved out whale which Bob designed for people to admire. Bob is survived by his wife, Marilyn Montgomery of Coos Bay; sons, Robert Montgomery of Coos Bay and George Montgomery of Lakeside; daughter, Mary (Luann) Magale of Salem; stepson, Joseph Grondorf of Coos Bay; stepdaughter, Nicki Simmons of Coos Bay; sister, Marylu Baker of Coos Bay; 10 grandchildren; and six great -grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy Owens; and his overweight weiner dog, Dinky who he cherished and loved so much. Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay. Ernie was born Dec. 1932, in Ernie Dunn Marcola, Ernie Dunn to Ora and Gail Dunn. He was one of seven siblings. Ernie married Carla Ann Christensen in 1954.

After retiring from Weyerhaeuser, he enjoyed his time by fishing, crabbing, boating and spending time with his children, grandchildren and Betty M. Stiles June 30, 1939 March 4, 2013 At her request, no public services will be held for Betty Maxine "Mackie" Stiles, 73, of Coos Bay. Cremation rites have been held at Ocean View Memory Gardens Crematory in Coos Bay. Betty was born June 30, 1939, in Paragould, the daughter of Everett and Ophelia Mansfield. She passed away March 4, 2013, in Springfield.

She was raised in Klamath Falls and married Glenn E. Stiles Jr. in 1956. They moved in 1967 to Coos Bay, where Betty enjoyed ceramics with her dear friend, Donna Lee and even owned her own shop, Busy Bee's for a time in North She also loved collecting antiques. Her tin car collection was her pride and joy.

Betty loved the Oregon coast, especially the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area in Reedsport. She also loved dinners with her longtime friends, Dick and Kathy Chambers of Charleston. Betty is survived by her husband, Glenn of Coos Bay; son, Glenn III and wife, Vera of North Bend; daughter, Becky of St. Helens; brother, Harry Mergel and wife, Debra of Texas; as well as her most loved, spoiled Corgi mother and great -grandmother. Jackie is survived by her brothers Bill Ragle of San Angelo, Texas, John Marshall of Germany, and Richard Marshall of Seattle; sons Mike Gillaspie of Redmond, David Gillaspie of Tigard, Steve Gillaspie of Barrow, Alaska; daughter Julie Renly of San Diego, Burial, Cremation Funeral Services Coco Chalet Est.
