They went to the mountains for a two-day hunt and drove on to Eugene and came borne by way of Drain. Mrs. Kitty Gordon of the Tourist peiel entertained eight 'little girls at a birthday party for her lit tie daughter, Ilene, in honor of her eleventh birthday. After playing games and having the birthday cake, the guests were taken to Marshfield 'to the theatre. The children all reported a most en joyable time.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis and Mrs. Ralph Barker left Tuesday morning for Long Beach, Cal, for a month's vacation. Harry Zlnv merman of Marshfield drove them down.

They went the coast route. Mr. and Mrs. Nonda Anderson of North Bend visited the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Davis Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Gus Manot spent the aft ernoon Monday, visiting Mrs. Davis and her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Blake.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Blake are in charge of the Davis home, while the Davtses are in the south, visiting their sons and other rela tives. Mrs. Bert Holland and daughter, Jackie, visited Mrs.

Cecil Holland Saturday afternoon, as Mrs. Holl and and daughter were both sick With the W. Mrs. August Berg and daugh ter, Mrs. Leo Mateon, were Sun day visitors from Portland.

This is Mrs. Berg's first trip home in a year and a half. Mrs. Berg Is now (4 years old, and very spry for her age. They left for home Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Bashaw of Empire made a trip to Marsh field and North Bend on business Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Roselle of Big Creek were city visitors on Monday afternoon.

Hess Faulkner made a business trip to Marshfield and North Bend Monday. Last Friday night the Arago boys defeated the Riverton boys 'on Riv- erton home court in a volleyball game 97 to 46. The game was played in four 15-mlnute quarters, The lineup at the beginning of the game was Don Currie, Joe Slnko, Bud Griffen, Walter Moore, Ernie Milan! and Mllden Carl in the' Arago lineup. Arago took the lead soon after the beginning or tne game and kept It to the finish. Last Friday night the Arago girls volleyball team was defeated by the Riverton girls on the Riverton court 4Q to 29.

The game played In four 8-mlnute quarters. Arago made a One start, running the score up to 11 to 1 Riverton quickly added seven points to tie at the end of the first quarter.
